The following promotional posters I did were commissioned by the Fifth Dimension Crew and Contra. The posters were all designed under a three-part system, something that was introduced to me as the 5, 10, and 15 rules. Basically meaning that the poster was to have three main elements. One element is visible from 15 feet, one is visible from 10, and the last element is from 5 feet away. I stuck to using this rule on these two posters because most of the posters would be posted either in shop windows or bar windows. I wanted the viewer to be intrigued from a distance and be pulled in from there. Both of these posters focus on a large graphic element followed by a large text portion, the smallest being the detailed text. I redesigned these posters recently to be pasted and shot in an urban setting.
